Prasat Phanom Rung

We went to Phanom Rung twice over a span of 6 years. It is a classic Khmer site and a breathtaking site, when you walk up to it on the long path that leads to the main sanctuary. The site is located on a 383 meter inactive volcano south of the city of Buriram. There is lots of beautiful staircases, naga bridges, entrance ways, lintels and pediments. Everywhere you look is something new to see. And the view from the hill into the valleys below is also worthwhile to justify the long drive.
